WebInclusion content in steel is an important criterion to assess clean steel. MgO.Al 2 O 3 spinel inclusions cause problems in steel processing and are generally deleterious to steel products due to their high melting point and high hardness. Inclusions are generally removed by reacting with slag. WebIn this thesis, both the wettability and the agglomeration characteristics of non-metallic inclusions in liquid iron/steel were studied by using both experimental results and thermodynamic considerations. The mechanisms of the wettability of different types of inclusions were discussed.
