WebOct 18, 2013 · Help.. My outlet is positioned as such the beadoard and chair rail isn’t as high on the wall to completely encase the outlet. Part of the outlet cover plate is 3 inches higher on the wall than the beadboard. So even if the outlet is flush with the beadboard, there will be a gap behind the plate in the area that is just the painted wall.
