WebBacterial lipopolysaccharides (LPS) are considered strong activators of the innate immune system. They play a crucial role in the pathogenesis of sepsis and several other bacterial infections. Therefore molecules that can potently suppress LPS may prove beneficial in treating certain bacterial infections such as sepsis.
